We pray that this comrade’s heart may not be troubled. His strength is going, and he has suffered a great deal, but he is not afraid. Grant that his sins be forgiven by Thee, and that all trials are past for him.
May he not worry about his family, which he loves dearly. He dies believing in Thee, as he has lived, believing in Thee. May Thy face and the happiness of eternal life shine splendidly before his eyes.

Remember, O Lord, Thy servants, (name them), who have gone before us with the sign of faith and rest in the sleep of peace.

To these, O Lord, and to all who rest in Christ, grant, we pray Thee, a place of refreshment, of light,
and of peace. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

For the Safety of Our Soldiers

Almighty and Eternal God,those who take refuge in You will be glad and forever will shout for joy.
Protect these soldiers as they discharge their duties. Protect them with the shield of your strength and keep them safe from all evil and harm.
May the power of Your Love enable them to return home in safety, that with all who love them, they may ever praise You for Your loving care.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

For Courage in the Time of Battle

O Prince of Peace, we humbly ask Your protection for all our men and women in military service. Give them unflinching courage to defend with honor, dignity and devotion the rights of all who are imperiled by injustice and evil.
Be their Rock, their Shield, and their Stronghold and let them draw their strength from You.
For You are God forever and ever, Amen.

One Minute Each Night – A Prayer for America

13 March 2012

I have a dear friend who is family to me. He has singlehandledly kept the Latin Mass going in his diocese even when it wasn’t fashionable to do so. He would tell me NEVER to give up when the struggle seemed insurmountable. He was right. Summorum Pontificum became our reward.

My friend is also as passionate about our country as he is about our Catholic Faith. Yesterday he emailed me something that gave me hope. Today I share it with you, my readers because I know you will NEVER give up…

Please share this with as many people as possible. As my doctor told me last year when part of my illness was healed, “Prayer works…” It does, even one minute a day.

This is the scariest election we as Christians have ever faced, and from the looks of the polls, the Christians aren’t voting Christian values. We all need to be on our knees.

Do you believe we can take God at His word? Call upon His name, then stand back and watch His wonders unfold. This scripture gives us, as Christians, ownership of this land and the ability to call upon God to heal it. I challenge you to do that. We have never been more desperate than now for God to heal our land.

This election is the scariest I remember in my lifetime. 2 Chronicles 7:14. ‘If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.’

During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill, who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute, to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace. This had an amazing effect, as bombing stopped.

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America .

The United States of America , and our citizens, need prayer more than ever!!! If you would like to participate, each evening at 9:00 P.M.Eastern Time (8 PM Central, 7 PM Mountain, 6 PM Pacific), stop whatever you’re doing, and spend one minute praying  for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, for peace in the world, the upcoming election, that the Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our land, and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.

Someone said if people really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have. Thank you.

Please pass this on to anyone who you think will want to join us.

God Bless You!!!

GlennBeck has a dream too….

29 August 2010

An open letter to Glenn Beck:

Dear Glenn,

I want to thank you for your courage and for your faith in God that showed you the path of your vocation. Please know that there is one Catholic who will defend you and pray for you EVERYDAY…

I watched two movies this week to prepare for the Rally, (unfortunately could not attend live but participated live online) Mr. Smith Goes to Washington with Jimmy Stewart and Meet John Doe with Gary Cooper. These characters are both very different at first glance, but in fact they are a combination of all of us… The thing however, that they have in common is restoring honor. Jeff Smith in Mr. Smith, wants honor restored to our form of government. Mr. Doe, however, wants honor restored to each of our souls, starting with himself.

Glenn, you are the symbol of our Jeff Smith and John Doe. You are the man who thinks that it can’t get worse and that maybe there is no way out. As you have told us there was a point in your life when you found yourself at the bottom. You were in the fetal position on the floor. You were at the lowest point in your life. August 28, 2010, you showed us that the path to the highest point–the path to our God is possible.

Thank you Glenn Beck…for calling for the restoration of honor in our lives, for praying to our Creator unceasingly and for never giving up…

Ad majorem Dei gloriam,

Sofia Guerra

At the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, hundreds of thousands of Americans from all backgrounds came together on this day to restore honor to a great nation. Thanks to CreativeMinorityReport for getting this vid up quick!! Great job… I happened to see it via BattleBeadsBlog. I agree with Mary at BattleBeadsBlog this needs to be shown as much as possible until November 2nd, Election Day. We put these people in office, fellow Catholics, our responsibility to get ’em out!! Thanks to the Brothers Archbold (Creative Minority Report) for always having their finger on the pulse and to Mary at Battlebeads Blog for having the sharp eye.

Sean Norris has posted this video for AlwaysCatholicBlog. Sean can be found at his blog, An Average Patriot Speaks Out and at AlwaysCatholicBlog. Follow Sean on Twitter @commonpatriot.

Today is “#MilitaryMonday” on Twitter when all good peeps that are worth following give homage to the military. Keeping with that tradition on Twitter, Sean Norris our resident political contributor on AlwaysCatholicBlog gives us the chance to contribute in style. This video is so well done, even a tough nut from Jersey named Sofia (that would be me) grabbed the tissues on this one. Presented with real people in a classy setting as a teaching moment to the kids, this video gives us back the feeling we had when we could see movies that made us feel proud like this little vid has accomplished.

In a world of cynicism and frowns, this little “movie” shows what is so right about being us…about being Americans, strong and brave…good job, Sean, thank you. AMDG, Sofia
