NOW, it’s a Rant….God forgive me…

Ok, so I haven’t ranted or raved in awhile…been very busy trying to play catchup on the site and now that I’m jussssst about there, I couldn’t hold back!
I read Pewsitter.com everyday several times a day for the best in Catholic news online. Really, this is the site to get the REAL Catholic stories in the news exception to none. So,this morning I meander over to Pewsitter and there it is:
ow, let’s look at this lovely photo of a Kennedy, our supposed “royalty” here in America. Niiiice, supposed “Roman Catholic” family (exception Rose, God rest her soul…) that becomes dynasty and we should be proud as Roman Catholics in America. NOT! Never, ever…
Why do we as Roman Catholic keeps putting up with this nonsense? The reason, because we are as culpable of the sin as Ms, Kennedy here and her Jebbie friends at Saint Ignatius in the Big Apple.
Wait! Wait! Let me post the parish link to Saint Ignatius (beautiful Church btw been there but not for Mass, Im a Trad) http://www.sfxavier.org/ and let’s take a look at the first thing up on their posts! Well, here we go, under Latest News is this (steam starting to pour out of ears now…) juicy little tidbit:
An evening with Kerry Kennedy author of Being Catholic Now.
Wednesday, June 2nd 7:00 PM Main Church
Her life has been devoted to the vindication of equal justice, to the promotion and protection of basic rights, and to the preservation of the rule of law. At a time of diminished idealism and growing cynicism about public service, her life and lectures are testaments to the commitment to the basic values of human rights.
Well, well, well, and the beat goes on (Wasn’t that Sonny & Cher? oh yeah, getting sidetracked, aaargh!!) and on and on, ad nauseam.
Where are the “supposed faithful Catholics” in America? I see the polls. Catholics that attend Mass weekly and on Holy Days are overwhelmingly in support of Church teaching. If we take just THAT demographic do we not think we will be heard?? We will. What is wrong with this picture?
As one of my favorite yentas (Fran Drescher hey politics aside-she’s funny) says,, “I CAN’T EVEN PROCESS THIS!!” Actually one of my fav quips stolen shamelessly from Fran. Seriously, now, when are we going to stand up for TRUTH? I feel like i want to go beat the snot out of every journalist that takes a slam at Benedict with shoddy journalism.
Where is the outrage?? I don’t mean idiotic outrage like Islamic terrorist nutjobs. I mean heartbreaking, eyes filled with tears at our Church being kicked to the curb outrage! I know I am not the only one here…or am I?? Anyone, anyone??? Bueller?
Look, I read alot the Catholic blogs and with the exception of a few ( CreativeMinorityReport, FatherZ and a few more) it is the same drone rattle over and over. Yeah, I know–new kid on the block talking mad junk, so I’m ready to take my licks.
I challenge you Catholic bloggers, in fact it’s a double-dog dare you challenge! Call for Public Penance as we have here at AlwaysCatholic.com.
The reason we are getting our butts kicked in the lamestream media is because us “good Catholics” are sitting home pointing the finger at the Bishops and the priests for the scandals and the problems. Oh really, let’s take a look in the mirror. Me first.
I have complained, screamed and let out a few choice words(in Italian, of course) in relation to this onslaught of Anti-Catholicism, but did I do anything about it? Did I make phonecalls, did I email, did I fax right away when I read stories hurting our Church? I would respond, but not right away, when it was convenient to me!!! Nice, my Church and Faith being shredded like old tax docs in in a paper shredder and I’m too busy to stop and make a call. I can’ take the time to send an email, a fax or sit down and write in pen and ink, a letter showing how much my Faith and Church mean to me?
I guess I cannot watch even one hour with Him… I feel shame, sadness that my needs come first, my ego , my pride…
Introíbo ad altáre Dei. I will go in unto the Altar of God... I will make public penance…
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa…
Kyrie eleison, Christe eleison, Kyrie eleison…
For my lack of charity I ask forgiveness and indulgence from all of my colleagues and fellow Catholics. Please do not take offense, I feel so powerless and only in God’s Grace will we all have the power to protect our Church.
Your sister in Christ,
Please pass on the link to the Public Penance Project from AlwaysCatholic.com. We ask all to do this for our Holy Church, Pope Benedict and all of the mystical Body of Christ.
