Philippines & the Reproductive Health Bill abt to threaten the faith of a people…with U.S. help
Lisa Graas brings us up to date on the horrific Reproductive Health Bill being rushed through the legislature in the Philippines. Evidently the U. N. and their draconian schedule for getting all countries on board witht he Culture of Death and the payola from the United States has seized the Catholic mindset in the Philippines like a ferious demon. Please pray for the Filipino people. they have held the last bastion of Catholicism in a world that embraces Godlessness…
The Bill rovides that anyone who publicly speaks out (like a Church official against the law would be guilty of civil disobedience and could be jailed. This corrupt law ties the hands of priestsin the Philippines to preach the teachings of the Church. In effect, would render the Church usesless in society and basically not allow priests to do their job. Nice going NoyNoy…think your MOM is proud of you now?
Hillary Clinton, Contraception, Buckets of U.S. Taxpayer Money, and Bishops Who Suddenly Become…Complacent?
An interesting turn of events here. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Did this really just happen?
From the Millenium Challenge Corporation:
The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) is an innovative and independent U.S. foreign aid agency that is helping lead the fight against global poverty.
Created by the U.S. Congress in January 2004 with strong bipartisan support, MCC is changing the conversation on how best to deliver smart U.S. foreign assistance by focusing on good policies, country ownership, and results.
September 23 Press Release from Millennium Challenge Corporation:
Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Chief Executive Officer Daniel Yohannes and Philippine Secretary of Finance Cesar Purisima today signed a five-year economic development compact granting $434 million to the Philippines for investments in roads, community development projects, and improvements to the country’s Bureau of Internal Revenue. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and President of the Philippines Benigno Aquino III presided at the signing held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.
Aquino Should Have Listened to His Mother
President Benigno Aquino III of The Philippines, after meeting with Hillary Clinton and getting a boatload of U.S. taxpayer money, is reversing the long-held policy of his mother, previous president Corazon Aquino (above), and is now supporting government distribution of artificial contraception to the poor.
From The Canadian Press:
Philippine church officials have argued that contraception is a type of abortion, which is banned by the country’s 1987 constitution.
Aquino broke that customary silence last month during a forum with Filipino Americans while on a trip to the U.S., where he suggested his administration would be willing to distribute contraceptives to poor couples who couldn’t afford them.
Church leaders lashed out at Aquino, expressing disappointment and urging him to emulate his mother, pro-democracy icon and late President Corazon Aquino, who backed the church’s stance.
Proponents of contraception, however, have argued that rapid population growth and high fertility rates worsen the Philippines’ crushing poverty.
In Philippines,Cardinal Vidal: ‘If RH bill is passed into law, all priests will lose their jobs’
The contraception battle in the Philippines just shifted into high gear. Sunstar reports a quote in its headline from Cardinal Vidal: ‘If RH bill is passed into law, all priests will lose their jobs’.
The prelate said he told President Benigno S. Aquino III that if the bill is passed into law, it can “stifle” the church’s work.
“I told him (Aquino) when he was (still) campaigning, I told him ‘You know Noynoy if this will become law I and my brother priests will become jobless. We can no longer preach, give advice, to counsel or hear confession against it’,” Vidal told reporters yesterday.
