Attack on Catholic identity at Catholic University of America via @FatherZ
Im doubled over laughing on this one!!! For years now, orthodox Catholics have pleaded that our universities (particularly Catholic University of America – a “Pontifical” University) turn back from teaching heresy and supporting secular agendas. Now, when we finally see CUA start to actually BE a “Catholic” university and have an authentic “Catholic” identity, NOW, CUA is TOO Catholic. YOU JUST CAN’T MAKE THIS UP!!!
Muslim students think that even though a CUA student could NOT pray or attend Mass in an Islamic country that CUA must provide a prayer space that doesn’t offend their Muslim sensibilities. Please, please THIS MUST STOP!!! I have a suggestion for the Muslim students: Walk down the hill towards the Brookland/CUA Metro stop. There are a few benches in a pretty green grass area (perfect for placing prayer rugs) just a short distance from the buildings of CUA. Feel free to pray there…
You know the really ironic aspect of this is that if these same Muslim students were attending CUA say a half-dozen years ago, the administration would have probable turned the Chapel at Caldwell Hall into a mosque. Go figure.
My suggestion…Go to an Islamic University or to a secular university like George Washington University where your lawyer (John Banzhaf, an attorney and professor at GW Law School) hails from…Oh that’s right, he is getting rich on filing frivolous lawsuits against CUA. Niiiice…..
The above comment is my opinion only and does not reflect Father Zuhlsdorf’s opinion in any way…(other than I agree with him)

From Todd Starnes of Fox News.
The Washington, D.C. Office of Human Rights confirmed that it is investigating allegations that Catholic University violated the human rights of Muslim students by not allowing them to form a Muslim student group and by not providing them rooms without Christian symbols for their daily prayers. [Lemme get this straight. They enroll in a Catholic University... and it isn't a surprise that it is "Catholic" given that it is called "Catholic University of America". Then they complain that there are Catholic symbols everywhere!]
The investigation alleges that Muslim students “must perform their prayers surrounded by symbols of Catholicism – e.g., a wooden crucifix, paintings of Jesus, pictures of priests and theologians which many Muslim students find inappropriate.” [Perhaps they should enroll at Islamic University of America?]
